In this video I’m going to talk you through the three main elements of building and operating a successful online fitness business
One that allows you to help more people get more freedom and ultimately make more money.
I’m going to do it without making you opt into some terrible automated webinar marketed to you usually through a Facebook advert of some guy stood in front of a Lamborghini or stood next to a pool in some third world country pretending that he’s balling, or holding some terrible book that nobody wanted to read anyway that became an Amazon bestseller because they got all their friends on Facebook to buy.
I will walk you through how to grow and operate a successful online fitness business that gives you more time, more money and allows you to help more people.
In any business specifically for our Online Fitness Businesses there are only three key areas that we need to focus on.
Yes we can break those down and I will break them down for you today.
Those three key areas are:
MARKETING – making more people aware of the fact that we can help them, broadcasting our message to the masses and attracting people who we want to buy from us and repelling people who aren’t right for
SALES – We need to then convert that audience into paying clients not just paying clients but high paying online personal training clients who are great to work with
SERVICE DELIVERY – We then need a way to deliver those services to online personal training clients so that we can work with people all over the world without it taking up too much of our time.
Disclaimer there’s always work to do and you have to be able to get people actual results
So more on marketing reaching more people generating online leads consistently so that you’re not just throwing mud at a wall and seeing what sticks.
Most people start by posting on social media that should never be step 1.
We need to do a few things before that.
1.Network and local is always the first place to get your online clients. If you’re just starting out this is where you should start. And even once you get going and building a great online fitness business you should still continue to utilise this amazing pool of potential online training clients that you have from your existing network and local and by local I mean… If you’re working on the gym floor right now use the gym floor to generate online personal training clients. If you have old clients that used to work with in-person reach out to them and see if they’d be interested in working with you as an online personal training client. If you have friends, family friends, friends of friends you should be growing out organically from that audience.
2. Figuring out who your dream client or your ideal client is.You need to do that so that we can then move into step 3
3. Craft a messaging and communication strategy that’s going to make sure that any content that we do create is specific to the people that we want to work with as online personal training clients. Our messaging and communications strategy is going to include things like showing who you are, highlighting the positive traits that you have.
It’s got to be specific to this dream client, we need talk about our service.
We need to talk about the objections that they may have and overcome them in our marketing.
We have to show that we understand the challenges that they face and aspirations that they have
But we can’t do that unless we know who our dream clients.
And we can’t create effective social media content until we know any of that either.
We can’t create Facebook ads, write great emails retail and can’t write great blog articles for search or SEO marketing without understanding who our ideal or dream online client is and crafting a messaging communications strategy that makes sure that all of our content whether it’s social media, email or paid marketing is specific to them.
Your marketing won’t be effective until you have this nailed down.
When I say effective I mean making sure that your content generates leads and clients instead of likes and comments because unfortunately you can’t pay the bills with likes and comments, we need to turn your content into money.
Let’s move on to selling
Once we’re marketing effectively we need to start moving people down our funnel and turning them into paying online personal training clients.
So the first thing that we need within our sales area out of these three things are sales mechanisms.
How do we turn someone from a reader of our content into a paying client
A really soft one is a call to action in your content
“hey if you’re interested in this, click link in my bio”
The next one is a lead magnet, exchanging a free thing of higher value than simply social media content for an email address or phone number.
Or we can offer a free or low cost product
Again in exchange for the person’s details whether it’s that they are filling in an application form or just their email address, name, phone number whatever it may be.
Once we have their details or once they’ve applied to work with us we need a sales process.
There are two typical sales processes
One is application form, then we take them through a reminder sequence so that they actually show up for the call and you don’t get ghosted. We do the call we make the sale.
The other one is we send traffic directly to a page where people can buy from us.
If you are just starting out or you are selling a high priced programme you’re probably going to go with sales process number one, if you have a large audience and you can drive a lot of traffic somewhere then you may be able to use number two, drive drive traffic straight to a page where people can buy
SERVICE DELIVERY once we take people through a sales process the first thing we need to do is onboard them as online personal training clients in a way that makes them excited.
So we’re going to make sure immediacy is emphasised.
W want to make sure they have something to consume right away, we can use email automation to make sure that happens.
We’re going to set expectations, going to get them excited and let them know what’s to come.
Once we get them onboard we will deliver that program to them.
We have students right now with 50, 60+ online personal training clients who still use sheets spreadsheets and PDF documents to work with their online clients and it works completely fine.
Test, use the free trials of the apps, play with sheets and docs and go with whichever works best for you.
Then we need to make sure to clearly explain how your clients use these programs and get the most from working with you, maybe at an FAQ document as well so you don’t get asked the same questions over and over again every time you sign up a new client.
Then once they’ve got their programmes we need to manage those clients to make sure that they get amazing results and so that they’re happy as well.
Key things to consider.
ACCESS how do they interact with you? Email, calls, text, in a Facebook group?
SET EXPECTATIONS so that people know when and where they can talk to you
CHECK INS – How do you update your clients programmes.? Is it weekly, is it monthly? Do you even do that.? If so what’s the process for that?
And then DIFFERENTIATION a lot of people differentiate themselves in their marketing by being different publicly, but how are you differentiating your business via your product or service and the way you work with clients. Nobody’s doing this. So we can make sure that your product is congruent with your entire brand if you promise things in your marketing make sure you deliver here
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS with your client
BUILD A COMMUNITY
GET PEOPLE RESULTS and you will RETAIN people for longer and get more REFERRALS.
